Abstract -
Automation is the concept in which the entire process reduces the time and cost of man work to an immense limit. Through the introduction of technologies into labour force, the results turn up to be in efficient accuracy with greater speed. The idea of implementing automation in electricity billing process is to show the key features on efficiency in its results. The proposed system shows that rather than using steep devices to count the units consumed, a simple PIC microcontroller is enough to haul the units and convert it to preferred values as needs. The units taken can be sent by using a GSM module to the receiver side for further use. This system shows the simplest idea on automating the energy meter billing process. Thus while implementing it would be at low cost with the desired results as the consumer wishes.
