Abstract -
4K Resolution also called ultra high definition (UHD) is the upcoming trend in the video technology. It basically is the display of pixels of the order 4000 horizontally and 2000 vertically. This implies that the file size of such a massive resolution must also be automatically high. The problem is, it’s difficult for people having download speed less than 15 MBPS to watch 4K videos without buffering. This paper identifies the possible set of solutions to watch 4k videos from two major perspectives (a) Server side efficient delivery and (b) Client side effective reception. Utilizing existing video compression algorithms and codecs which are underdevelopment, it is possible to seamlessly watch 4K videos with lower bandwidth. The realm of possibility of this can be tested after once google launches its new video codec VP9.But, statistical data are provided based on the existing technology.
