Abstract -
Personalized mobile search engine provides search results to user by capturing user search interests. Interests are classified by creating a user profile dynamically and search is categorized in various facets. Facets are content search, location search and semantic search. User preferred facet is extracted using ontology meaning whose click-throughs are saved to personalize the results and perform re-ranking based on mine words. Location search obtains users location data dynamically using GPS positions by geo code technique. Semantic search provides the intention and contextual meaning of the keyword search by applying porter stemmer algorithm with datasets to provide words and eliminate stop-words in the search. Existing system provided manual location search which is not user-friendly and also no mobile search engine has semantic search feature. Also user privacy is not maintained in existing system. The proposed system is a brand new and realistic style of personalization for user profiles categorized into facets. Privacy issue is addressed by restricting the user information to be exposed to server by maintaining user search details at the client system itself. This assures good ranking quality and controls privacy smoothly. General search and personal search are differentiated based on delete history. The proposed one is an enhanced approach for personalizing mobile search mining all the facets of the user and uses a client-server architecture which is prototyped on Google Android Platform.
